The exterior bands are the old German "Pigeon blood" bands with that darker Smokey rust colour. The interior bands, although appearing to be the same colour, are not. They have a slight translucency to them as you can see from the backlit picture. Although one piece in the ribbon has escaped the main one, I wouldn't constitute this as a double ribbon core. One pin on the surface and just a slight glass crease at the pontil Exquisite and unusual piece!
